DSP Programmes

 

KARE Adult Supports Community Employment Programme

The Adult Supports Community Employment Programme is run in conjunction with the DSP in the Kildare and Wicklow regions. Participants on the scheme gain experience by playing an active role in the organisation either by working directly in services for adults or in our support/administration services. Participants are also facilitated to achieve QQI qualifications in their chosen vocational areas for example a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Intellectual Disability Practice for those working frontline. KARE Childcare Community Employment Programme

The Childcare Community Employment Programme is run in conjunction with the DSP in the Kildare and Wicklow regions. Participants on the scheme gain experience by playing an active role in various childcare settings working directly with children. This programme focuses on facilitating participants to achieve a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Early Childhood Care & Education. Participants may also have the opportunity to progress onto a QQI Level 6 Major Award in Early Childhood Care & Education. KARE/KWETB Intellectual Disability Support Programme (Code - KL59A)

KARE in association with KWETB (Kildare and Wicklow Education Training Board), have developed an Intellectual Disability Support Programme aimed at equipping participants with the competencies necessary to support a person with an intellectual disability to live the life they choose. The programme is 48 weeks long and successful participants gain a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Intellectual Disability Practice. Prospective participants must register with the DSP Employment Services and meet the criteria for the programme, for more information please see www.welfare.ie
