Kare Encourages Local Community to Get Involved in ‘Kilometres for Kare’ Campaign in May

Local charity Kare, which provides services and supports for people with intellectual disabilities, has announced an upcoming fundraising campaign for the month of May.

The campaign is called ‘Kilometres for Kare’, with the tagline ‘Choose your own way this May’. It aims to empower individuals of all abilities to embrace personal fitness challenges while supporting Kare's mission of fostering inclusivity and wellbeing.

Whether it's running, walking, swimming laps, taking part in wheelchair sports, or any other form of physical activity, participants are encouraged to set their own goals and challenge themselves in way that suits their own abilities.

Participants can create personal fundraising pages and seek support from friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor their fitness challenges, or can join as part of a team or club. All funds raised will directly support Kare's efforts to provide essential services and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them to lead fulfilling and active lives.

Signing up for the campaign is simple and can be done through Kare's website at kare.ie/KmForKare.

"We are excited to introduce the 'Kilometres for Kare' campaign and encourage anyone who is interested to get involved," said Deirdre Murphy, CEO of Kare. "At Kare, we believe that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves the opportunity to participate in and benefit from physical activity and social initiatives. This aim of this campaign is not only to raise awareness and funds for Kare, but also to promote the importance of inclusivity in all aspects of life."
