Kare, in partnership with Newbridge Access Group, will be hosting a Community Arts and Crafts Exhibition in Newbridge Town Hall on Monday, 23 September from 10am to 1pm.
The exhibition will showcase artwork and crafts from community groups and individuals, with a focus on highlighting creativity and inclusion in the local area. It is the first in a week-long programme of events for Social Inclusion Week which runs from 23–27 September across Kildare.
As well as a range of exhibits, the event will feature an address by Keith Walsh, the Newbridge-based coach, podcaster, broadcaster, presenter, writer, public speaker and mental health advocate.
Attendees are encouraged to come along, bring friends, connect with new people, and explore the diverse exhibitions on display.
Anne-Marie Potter, Social Inclusion Officer at Kare, said: “Social Inclusion Week is a great way to bring people together and celebrate different backgrounds, cultures and life experiences.
“Our community groups and shared community spaces are really at the core of this, making sure there’s a place for everyone to feel welcome and involved. Many local groups will be represented at the exhibition so it’s a great chance to learn more and get involved."
Deirdre Murphy, Kare CEO, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Newbridge Access Group and the Kildare Public Participation Network to host this event. Social Inclusion Week aligns perfectly with Kare’s main aim, to promote inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, by creating an environment where everyone, regardless of ability, can feel valued and included. We’re proud to support this initiative and look forward to seeing the community come together.”
Kindly funded by Newbridge Access Group and the Kildare Public Participation Network, the exhibition is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.
